Tutorial examples
Every institution’s shared Institution Workspace has a Tutorials work package with worked examples to learn from. You can open them, switch between their tabs and look at every item and card, but nobody can change them. Your own work never ends up in them.
What the examples show
Section titled “What the examples show”- Example: assay experiment is a canvas and its plan. Each card’s tasks are rows in the plan, grouped by card. Switch between the Canvas, Table and Gantt tabs to see the same work three ways.
- Example: study timeline is a plan without a canvas. Its work streams are groups, with two milestones, finish-to-start dependencies and planned hours. Open the Gantt tab to see how the dependencies shape the schedule.
The examples are in the language of your institution’s owner when they were created: English, German or Italian. They have no assignees, so they never show up in My tasks, team load or schedules.
Finding them
Section titled “Finding them”Open Explorer, then the Institution Workspace, and open the Tutorials work package. The package and each example are marked Example. Search finds them too.
Looking around
Section titled “Looking around”An example opens like any other plan. Its header shows the Example mark and the line “This is an example. You can look around but not change it.”
- In the plan’s tabs you can scroll, filter and open items, but you can’t add, edit, move or delete them.
- On the Canvas tab you can pan, zoom and select cards. Cards can’t be dragged, linked or edited, and the canvas offers no Quick build, Arrange nodes, undo or canvas settings. You can read a card’s comments, but not add one.
Hiding the examples
Section titled “Hiding the examples”Institution admins can hide the examples for everyone in the institution. In Explorer, open More on the Tutorials row and choose Archive examples. This is the only change anyone can make to the package. Showing archived examples again isn’t available in Sauriq yet.
